Feeding time

What you're seeing is a tarpon right before it rises out of the water to grab a bait fish from my friends hand. Tarpon can get to be huge fish so it strange to see them so close to the surface and basically being hand fed. This was taken at a 'tarpon farm' in the Florida keys where the fish get used to being fed by visitors.

That is a cool shot. I'm not familiar with that fish. Does it go by another name? Is it edible? *eg*

Thanks for the comment.

If you click on tarpon in the photo description it will take you to a tarpon information page.

From what I read it isn't eaten in the US but is a delicacy other places.

That's interesting. I thought it was a dolphin! Too bad it's not sharper, but it's a good spontaneous shot.

I was actually hoping the tarpon would come further out of the water and come into focus but the way it's frozen with it's mouth open is interesting.
