Sunset Cactus

I took this photo on a lonely stretch of road somewhere near Joshua Tree National Park. The sun was setting and there was literally nothing but dessert for miles around.
I like the look of the cactus (I think that's what it is) and how it is dark but still has detail to it. The shape and colors in the clouds really sets this photo apart for me.

I used a Canon 20D with a 50mm 1.4 lens for this shot.

Beautiful desert scene but the one of your eye is truly outstanding.

Thanks.
I agree that the eye shot is much more distinctive and interesting than this shot, most people see sunsets but you rarely ever take the time to stare at an eyeball (hopefully).

Beautiful scene. The shape of the otherworldy trees and the colors are beautiful.

Thanks,
There are some really strange and interesting plants in the deserts of southern California (especially Joshua Tree National Park).
