Jellyfish 2
This is a shot of a jellyfish from the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California which I took the same day as this other shot. I'm not sure which one I like better but I think this one stands out because of the dramatic lighting and the odd golden glow. It almost looks like there's a spotlight on this specific jellyfish. Also the fact that the jellyfish is not in sharp focus makes it look like ink that's dispersing in the water.

There's something very calm and beautiful about them. Nice capture.
I agree what you told about the focus, nice work.
oh my goodness what a KIFF shot!
This one is cool- it looks like its floating around in some far off galaxy.
Thanks for all the comments. I think the dramatic lighitng in this one and the background set it apart from the other one.
Just goes to show that a sharp photo is not always the best.
Really like the colors in this picture.:)
jellyfish scare the crap out of me.
Thanks for the comments.
Brocco- I guess you're lucky there aren't too many jellyfish in the midwest.
Quite eerie and... scary. Wouldn't like to meet it while swimming in the sea!
Thanks for the comments. I was definetely happy to see this one through glass. I still have one more photo of a jellyfish I saw in the wild (shallow water). I'll try to post that sometime this week.
Thanks Mari.
