Rocks by the ocean
I took this photo near San Diego, California at the beach close to Point Loma lighthouse. This is the same place I took this photo. Near that spot was a small rocky beach where there were a few small tide pools with shallow water and some really interesting rocks. If you expand the photo you might also notice the small crab in the top left. I think it's a hermit crab but I'm not positive.
I like the brightness in this photo and how the ripples of the water of water seem frozen, especially at the bottom. Also the composition seems to give a sense of balance and calm.

Very Zen-like. Indeed a very peaceful picture! Great light!
I really love this photo. Its one of my favorites that you've taken. Its just so peaceful, natural, and zen-like (as mentioned), and the composition is great. I want to print this and put it up in our house someday. I wonder how it would look in B&W- its easy enough to find out with Photoshop!
i like the way the light hits the rock :)
Thanks for the comments, this is one of my favorites as well.
Robyn-I don't know about black and white, I wouldn't want to lose the golden color of the water and sand and the colors on the rock.
I like it nice touch with the hermit crab. A little more depth of field would be nice or a polarizer. It's snowed here so any warm photos are a welcome relief.
Peace
Ian
Nice colors on the rock.
Beautiful photo!
Very nice.
Almost sad that the rock is casting a shadow, because I lose more of the ripples!

Thanks for the comments.
I actually like the shadow of the main rock because you get the contrast between that and the rest of the image
Rocky intertidals are great! Yet another beautiful picture.
would love to be sitting with my feet in that pool right now...haven't seen the ocean in months...
Thanks for the comments, I actually did have my feet in the water at the time, very relaxing.
I saw this photo yesterday and liked it so much I wanted to see it again today. Very nice.
I like the jelly as well, however, as a surfer I get really tired of running into them.
You have a good eye!!
Thanks for the compliment Blogbank, I'm constantly looking for new photo subjects.
