Eye Silhouette

This is a somewhat abstract image which I think is interesting despite violating certain 'rules' of photography (not enough detail in the black and a 50/50 composition).
As the title says this is the silhoutte of an eye (Robyn's actually) in relatively low light. I liked the subtle on the surface of her eye and also wanted to capture the shape of the eyelashes against the light background.
By the way the cross in the background is from the shape of the window.

déjà vu. :)

When I saw this I thought, "Now where have I seen this before?" After some thinking I went & looked in your archives. And then I wondered why you'd posted it again.

At least now I can have the chance to comment on it.

I've never heard of those photography "rules."

I really love this. And knowing it's your girlfriend Robyn, it conveys more feelings to the viewer. Glad you decided to break those rules, this is a very inspiring photo!

OK, I'm new here, and I've not seen it before. It is worth reposting, though. What a great idea. I like to take different pictures (abstract in nature, like this) of my kids to document them at their different stages of life. This is a wonderful idea I must use on my girls. My sons won't sit still long enough.

Beautiful.

I like the execution and the concept of the photo; however I think that there is too much black at the bottom of the photo. Personally, I would probably crop off about 2/3 of the bottom black part.

Thanks for the comments.

I completely forgot I posted this before, might be because I've been sick and on medication when I'm posting. Hopefully I'll regain my senses once this cold passes.

Nice catch Ian and Patty, glad you are keeping up with the blog.
