Giraffe Hide
I took this photo of a giraffe at the Philadelphia Zoo earlier this summer. I wanted to capture the strange animal in a different way. By focusing on the coloration and shapes of its hide I tried to bring out the oddness of the animal without simply showing it was tall.
Looking at the hide closely it resembles more of a geometric pattern than a random texture.
Canon 5D, 70-200 f/4.0L
@200mm, f/4.0, shutter-1/1250, ISO-100

Very striking!!
i would never have thought of just photographing the patterns on a giraffe. this photo is exactly why i've loved being a part of the whole blog world-to get people, including myself, to see things in a totally different light, to step away from the norm & think outside one's photographic instincts...or something like that. :)
the image is very intriguing, Ahamed. thanks for allowing me to see something differently.
Thanks for the comments. I'm glad to be able to show life in a different way.
